MAKING BEATS USING REAL INSTRUMENTS

I was thinking lately when I was listening to various beats so I can compare with my progress...I noticed how beats can be separated into main sections. They can be divided on beats created by Fruity loops musicians and real instrument musicians.I'm not trying to offend someone, I'm just trying to explain what I've noticed. I'm playing all kinds of instruments for a really long time with equal respect for every genre while trying to figure out a way how it was done in the beginning. That way I learned to understand music on a deep level so now I got no problems to express anything  I got in my head. From that perspective, I noticed how there are those different style beats and automatically figured out it is because they don't play any instrument and they just don't know how to set up good and rich song melody and then they are using samples hard to fill their beats with sound to be ready for sale. As I've said before I'm not trying to offend anyone, that was just my benevolent perception.

What is worth mentioning about this theme is how to combine those two different styles to make something really unique and that is to use real instruments while making beats in sense of sampling short guitar or bass loops. I am quite sure that those people who already play some instrument already knows how to record their instruments in Fl studio so I won't talk how it's been done. I will try to point power of this creating process. You don' need to be guitar or piano or bass virtuous, only thing needed is ability to express    your idea to fill the song way you want.I'm in music for a long time and believe me when I said to you that you will never  be able to express yourself that precisely how you can by playing real instrument.
You wanna real challenge in life? Pick one instrument, use your will and focus to learn to play it and as times goes on try to implement that knowledge for getting at least the main melody in the song. Try to learn basics of bass guitar and with the acquired knowledge you will find much easier to do exactly what you want, believe me on that.
One more way is to use the processor as effect machine to get first input 50% already mastered. Let's say you pick delay effect on guitar processor before anything and you got in front of you just dum beat followed with a simple bass loop. What you can do with chosen effects on guitar is to get the one brand new perspective from where you can start digging your perfect melody for your song. You can use instruments to fill empty spaces just the way you wanted without thinking or browsing numerous impact or intro samples in program or online.

I recently stumbled upon some guy on youtube explaining how to create some particular trap style beat and somewhere in the middle of the video, he starts to record his own guitar slide on the thinnest string and soon puts some effects....miracle!!!Nobody can ever tell that this was ever guitar before! He just deformed that slide in a good way to achieve what he had on his mind and he finished the tutorial and his song very fast and efficient...just think about possibilities with the real instrument in your hands and you will be a step closer to understanding what I'm talking about. So long for now ;)

MUSIC INDUSTRIES

Today I will talk about various music industries where you can sell your beats or songs. Consider that I was not done my homework neither I have prepared for this, I just type how it goes from my head.So....lately I was thinking where to aim with my beats so this is opportunity for readers and at the same time for me to learn something, because who knows what lies in my head hehe,I'm just kidding. So let's begin...
The first and well-known music industry is Trap/Hip-hop industry and can be seen as the biggest one. I'm not trying to merge those two styles, I'm just pointing how rules are the same for those two genres. I mean artists can be different in their styles but the method for getting together beatmakers and artists are the same. There are many ways how to get in contact with each other via Facebook, SoundCloud, Instagram and many other ways that are up to the personal choice of the individual. For what I've learned till now it is crucial to get close with artists from beatmakers perspective, it is also important to be on service for those who will respect you as a beatmaker and of course to have high quality beats with your own recognizable style.
That is the sum of all important things and the only thing is how many efforts will beatmaker put in the marketing field to achieve results, once again that is up to individual choices which will vary as much as final results :)

Second good standing music field is the gaming industry and if you look how various popular styles merge with game music it is obvious that there is some money for beatmakers to search in that field of music industry. Ways to put yourself in that industries are a little different than the first one because those game studios are interested in a particular style which must be delivered in a way that fits game(various themes of the same melody, different moods for different levels and so on...).It is advisable to make short compilations ready to be checked and after that only job is to find emails of those gaming studios and approach them with your work and wait for a response so you can start negotiating terms and all other stuff.

The third industry will be the beats for commercial usage(ads, presentations, background music for videos...) and that is represented on various freelance pages as Upwork, Fiverr and similar pages that are offering connections with that kind of customers. Building your own trademark in this field of industry is possible via a good response from customers after finished work. As those good responses are rising so business will. Another way to distribute your work in that field is to make a professional niche in a form of a website and to attract customers offering them your services via mail, paying for marketing or doing SEO optimization for your web page.

Last industry for today will be movie industry and that one is hardest in terms of quality output in a form of music tracks. In all industries mentioned above, you must know that you are competing with best studios in the world where often budget is not a problem at all, so that implies you must deliver the best of the best. I personally have a friend who scored to make deal with the studio from Hollywood after 5 years of constant uploading his songs on various forums asking what is needed to improve. He was holding his focus on the same thing and there he is, living in a suburban district filled with money, full overhead with projects and deadlines, he reached his dream, but I know his path was crooked and only hard consistency helped him to win this battle so I hope you can learn  something from this short presentation. Right

now I can't remember any more fields where to put your music for sales but if I come with something worth mentioning I will make the second sequel of this, till then...good luck with selling your beats ;)

QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF BEATS?

This is the first question that bothered me when I was trying to decide if this beatmaker thing is a right choice for me. Now I am at peace with this :)
As every neophyte, I started with a classic copy of most popular artists and now I can tell you all why this is a bad example to follow. Let's take Drake for example. Do you think someone like him needs your beat? Don't you all think that all those most popular artist already have somebody who is responsible for that kind of job(creating or acquiring beats)? Of course, they have, the only thing you can attract by creating a replica of something already known is losers who will always stay low and unrecognizable because they don't offer anything new. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you must run away from everything that exists, I'm just saying that we all must be ourselves. If you are trying to create beats for yourself then this report is pointless, but I'm talking about making beats for sale and still, you need to be who you really are (in a music way).
There is a plenty of good things that will come out as a result of creating your own unique music. First, you will learn better to express yourself, second you will learn where you can place your music and sell it and third, you are going on route to scoring some serious business.
Just think about it. Every day there are plenty of artists planning to become popular but will they succeed? Yes, they will but only those who are serious about their means. Those serious artists can only laugh if they hear your replicated beats from Drake or Kanye West because they are coming to show the world their's way.
Fact is that that serious artist will search for unique style and often will pay more money for serious and unique beats. If you don't believe me then try, give yourself time, do opposite and you will see what you will get :)
I am making music for more than 20 years and I can say with certainty that only music coming from the heart will survive for a long time. Maybe you are a short-term player and looking to earn money fast but it is not easy to make money this way using any shortcuts. Try to rob a bank :D
Let's get back to serious talks, I read many books about money and all are saying the same thing, all in all, you are not selling your product but yourself. Maybe it sounds a little cruel but this is how things are working. In other words, if you don't have any recognizable style or not even planning to grow some then go look somewhere else because this isn't what you are looking for. Let's put things this way. Some guy is looking to buy beat but he is not certain which to choose between yours and some other guy's beat. In final he will choose from a producer who has better style and this goes for all segments of this topic. Maybe this goes a little off topic when I'm mentioning that word but surely fits here because it some kind gives an answer to this first question....what kind of beats?
Well, the answer is: those that are unique and have style :)

HINTS - CREATING YOUR OWN PLAYGROUND

In this presentation, I will talk about getting the all necessary software and talk about it from my point of perspective and I hope I will bring you to a closer understanding of successful creating your own music or beats.
I am a simple kind of person, I mean I'm always trying to keep things simple and powerful at the same time. What that means? That means I'm not going to overload you with a bunch of useful add-ons or samples, not because it is not needed but because for basic learning how to create quality beats that is absolutely not important.
What is important is to understand what is the main cog in creating your own music and that is to first listen as many various artist and styles as you can but not just listen to them but try to bring your concentration on a specific segment of the beat (drums, keys....).That will give you a vast of different perspectives and will fill you with knowledge vital for creating good and quality music. Don't be scared to try different things, feel free to mix all kinds of genres at first just so you can see the power of mixing different styles and also to notice that drum mainly sets music style of every beat/instrumental/song.
So if that's the case it is a good way to start with creating your main drum loop that will drive your song. I personally use Addictive drums 2 plugins with Fruity Loops 12, there is Ez-drummer as an alternative to Addictive but really there are no real differences between them, it all depends on personal choice. In both plugins, there are various pre-created drums loops that you can use or modify at your will. You can choose between different sets of drums and set levels of each drum component to achieve the desired sound. I strongly recommend making intro sequel as quickly as you finished with the main rhythm that will drive song on because later you will be occupied with too many things aside of drums and it will be hard to go back on start and make that song start. When your drums are ready you can decide whether you will make a bass line or main song melody first. That depends on kind of music you are trying to create but my personal choice is to start with bass line first because bass line is deeply connected with drum sequence and it is easier to define that symbiosis without other sounds that can drive your focus off. That's just my choice, it doesn't need to go exactly like that. Many people have the main melody in their head and that should be the starting point for them. So if you are going to stick with my way then you have the choice to go with "boo bass" or some of five versions of bass instrument that can be founded in packs/instruments/bass. It is always good to have some more bass plug-ins aside but I believe this basic set given by Fl studio is more than enough if you know how to set proper mastering props on the bass line.
When we talk about the main melody of the song then we are talking about practically any instrument you find adequate to define your song, from guitar to piano or some harmonics, it doesn't matter, you must guide yourself with your ears and feeling for music. It is important to keep things simple because even if you are capable of making something fabulous be aware that most people are not achieved that level of complexity with their ears so if you make a maze with your main melody your song will go unnoticed, believe me ;)
One more thing! Be aware that your ears can get tired after some time so don't force yourself to finish your beat/instrumental from one attempt, save your work for later then get back to it  and finish what you have started filled with fresh energy and ideas, all in all don't be hasty, be thorough and as I've said before, keep things simple ;)
Till next time...

RAW STREET BEATZ

So, what's my story? I'll stick the to short version because we don't have time for long one. Why? Because nobody has time these days and I must respect that if I want to get anyone's attention. So let's begin.
I am known as Tadija Markovic Bole and  if you are wondering is Bole a nickname, yes it is ;)
My story goes like this. I found that I am alive when I was around 5 years old and the second thing that got my attention was an acoustic guitar. My parents tried to support me with music school but I rejected that after a few lessons. Instead of quitting guitar I decided to learn all by myself and when I was 10 years old I stumbled upon Fruity loops. As I am 85' generation I was bombarded with various kinds of music characterstic for 90's.In meantime I gathered hardcore band and recorded 6 albums over time,I have been to hell and back in terms of music styles. There was periods when I played in 4 or 5 bands all sorts of instruments and I got no problem with that because I think music is more vast playground than one style. For example I listened to Cypress hill in the same time with Rob Gee and Beastie boys, Biohazard and Fear factory.I did not care what kind of music is in front of me as long as quality was there.Times have changed and so music are but I am still same person who like to explore what is new on plate and to get really deep to learn as much as I can.
Right now I study old styles derivates as trap, new school, dubstep, crossover and trying to combine job and satisfaction for working with something I love in one concept. I will try to not just offer my products but  to get you all closer to whole process of creation so maybe somebody can learn something and improve himself ...all in all, stay tuned and I  guarantee you that if you really are music type you will find satisfaction and fun here  at one place, deep in machinery of Raw street beatz studio!!!
